Hollingsworth & Vose Introduces HollTek(TM) Prepasted Wallcovering Substrate for Residential Applications: New direct-print nonwovens require no additional adhesives nor activators... Are dimensionally stable, easy to hang, and dry removable... And environmentally friendly alternative to vinyl wallcoverings
Hollingsworth & Vose Company (H&V), one of the largest nonwoven producers in the world, today introduced its prepasted line of HollTek direct-print, nonwoven wallcovering substrates for the residential market.
EAST WALPOLE, MA June 1, 2004 - Hollingsworth & Vose Company (H&V), one of the largest nonwoven producers in the world, today introduced its prepasted line of HollTek direct-print, nonwoven wallcovering substrates for the residential market.
Our new, prepasted HollTek material requires no additional adhesives nor activators to assure seamless wallcovering installation, providing consumer do-it-yourselfers and professional installers with unprecedented ease of installation, said Jim Vogt, Director of Sales and Marketing, Industrial Specialties, Hollingsworth & Vose.
For consumers, HollTek makes wallcoverings easy. Installations of the new, prepasted HollTek substrate are a snap, and deliver outstanding results on a variety of primed and painted surfaces, Vogt said. Moreover, redecorating is no longer a nightmare as the HollTek substrate is dry removable every time.
HollTek is delivered to the wallcovering producer ready to print on all of the platforms used in the industry: surface, flexo, roto-screen, or rotogravure. Developed with proprietary technology from H&V, HollTek substrates have exceptional dimensional stability, a characteristic that makes them faster, easier, and more accurate to hang than paper-backed vinyl wallcoverings.
HollTek Offers Environmentally Friendly Alternative to Vinyl Wallcoverings
PVC and formaldehyde-free, HollTek substrates are highly breathable and resist the growth of unhealthy mold and mildew, a major concern in many households. According to a recent publication by the Wallcoverings Association, molds can produce allergens, microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs), mycotoxins, and other irritants, which may cause some people to become ill.
For residential applications, our material is the smart alternative to vinyl (PVC) coated wallcoverings, he said. Impermeable vinyl wallcoverings can aid mold and mildew growth, trapping moisture inside the wall cavity. With HollTek material manufacturers can be assured that the substrate far exceeds the 10 U.S. Perm breathability rating recommended by OSHA and HUD.
The substrates are available in widths up to 57 inches and can be delivered ready to paste-the-wall or with prepaste. H&V has also used HollTek technology to develop coating substrates that can accept acrylic, plastisol, or other print ready coatings, while preserving dimensional stability and stripability. The HollTek family of products is currently being printed by leading wallcovering manufacturers for residential applications.
